Street Wars ! Shadow Puppets! Metal heads in Victorian costumes!

There is a Street Wars battle THIS SATURDAY at Union square. The three-week tournament starts Sept. 8th.

It's bring your own gun. (but isn't it always? I mean, it's not a duel!)

I can't get into my gmail calendar for some reason, so I have no idea what's going on in my life. Do I have plans for Friday? Probably!! When is my first board meeting at my new job? Who knows!?! So, this adds a sort of reckless non-directional careening effect to my life. In the meantime, my activities will be posted here so I don't forget, which was kind of the point of this blog in the first: Look-How-Cool-My-Life-Is. Or at least, how cool it would be if I did all the things I intended to do.

Like, also on Saturday is the free Charlie Parker Jazz festival, starting at 3 at that park on 124th where they do the harlem jazz festival. At least I think that's where it is.

On Sunday, the Turkish Festival is in Central Park in the high 90s, east side. I'll admit that my interest in this is principally due to my deep interest in shadow puppetry, which they may or may not have.

(Balinese ones are neater.)

Can you believe that I cannot take classes in show puppetry in New York City? Isn't this city supposed to have everything. I'm so upset, I may move back to California.

Or, I could indulge my interest in costumes. However, I am not a theatre person, nor a history buff, nor a D&D player, so I'm actually not interested in costumes, but I am nonetheless curious about Dances of Vice festival this weekend... mostly because somebody mention a "display of fantastical inventions."

Fantastical, really? Like what?
